Hey friend,

Quick update from the cockpit.

If you’re new here, I’ve been building a SaaS called Letterly.
It takes your newsletter and repurposes it into native posts for X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and more.

Different voice styles, different formats, so your posts actually feel like they belong on each platform.

Right now, it’s still in Beta. But it’s live. And 61 people are already using it!

This week felt like one looong balancing act.

On one side, the excitement of shipping new things.
On the other, the creeping reality of what those things cost.

Making sign-ups smoother

Big news here, I added Google OAuth login.

This is huge because it slashes sign-up friction.

A lot of people on Reddit mentioned they wished Letterly had Google sign-up, and shared that in their own apps, about 90% of sign-ups come through Google OAuth.

No more wrestling with creating yet another password or email confirmation hassle. This should help get more people onboard faster, which is exactly what Letterly needs right now.

Image generation. AKA. The beast in the basement

I’m almost done with one of the trickiest features yet: image generation.
Sounds simple enough. Type something in, get an image back. But under the hood? It’s a jungle.

The Make.com scenario that powers this thing looks like someone dumped spaghetti on a whiteboard. I’ll drop a screenshot in this edition so you can see the chaos.

The fun part? You’ll be able to choose different image styles (illustration, 3D, realistic, minimalistic, and more).
The not-so-fun part? Every image costs me money. About 4 cents each.

Now do the math with me:

  • Each conversion generates 10 images → 40 cents per conversion.

  • Standard plan users get 8 conversions → $3.20 in image costs.

  • Pro plan users average 20–25 conversions → $8–$10.

Margins? What margins.

And because the app is getting bigger, every little tweak in Bolt.new now costs more credits too. Which means even building is getting more expensive.

It’s forcing me to think about pricing sooner than I wanted. I’ve been dead set on keeping Letterly cheap, but if I leave prices as they are, this feature will eat the whole business alive.

Make.com’s newsletter repurposing scenario. I’m proud of it.

Your input on image AI

Right now, I’m using Gemini AI for image generation. The images look good, and the text inside them is mostly readable, but it’s pricier.

There’s another option: Stable Diffusion. It’s cheaper and might keep prices lower for you, but the text inside the images ends up a total mess + the images are not as awesome.

So here’s where I’m stuck:

  • Go with Gemini AI, which costs more but gives better quality images and better text, or

  • Switch to Stable Diffusion, much cheaper but with slightly lower image quality and awful text inside the images.

If you have thoughts, preferences, or experience with these tools, hit reply and let me know. Your feedback could help shape the future of Letterly’s image features.

Two new personas joined the crew

I also added two more personas: The Contrarian and The Philosopher.
The Contrarian pokes at the edges of conventional wisdom. The Philosopher slows things down and reflects. Both feel like they’ve been missing from the mix.

And because not everyone uses Letterly in the same way, I added Creative mode and Strict mode. Creative mode lets the AI add new ideas and angles. Strict mode just repurposes what you’ve written, without extras.

Plus, Letterly can now output in multiple languages. A few users asked for it, and they were right. Your audience isn’t always reading in English.

The Philosopher (Yellow) and the Contrarian (Red).

61 people on board

Feels good to see that number grow, even if I’ve been more focused on building than outreach. That’s why I’m pushing back the Product Hunt launch. The features had to come first this time.

It’s been 8–10 hours a day, most days, buried in backend logic and edge cases. Sometimes I look up and realize it’s dark out.

In-flight lesson

Building fast is fun. But every feature comes with baggage; cost, complexity, and the weight it puts on the rest of the system.

This week reminded me that speed is only half the game. The other half is making sure the plane can still fly with all the new parts bolted on.

Value dump for you

If you’re building something right now, ask yourself:

  • Does this feature make my product better, or just bigger?

  • Can I sustain it financially at my current pricing?

  • Is it helping me reach more people, or just keeping me busy?

Sometimes the smartest move isn’t shipping faster, it’s pausing to check the weight on the wings before you take off.

That's the latest from the hangar. Thanks for riding shotgun with me on this.

If you’re curious, want to test Letterly Beta, or just wanna say hi, reply to this. I read every one.

Talk soon,
Vicente

SOC 2 in 19 Days using AI Agents

We’re Delve — the team that went viral for sending custom doormats to over 100 fast-growing startups.

That stunt? It cost us just $6K and generated over $500K in pipeline. Not bad for a doormat.

But if you haven’t heard of us yet, here’s what we actually do: Delve helps the fastest-growing AI companies automate their compliance — think SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and more — in just 15 hours, not months.

Our AI agents collect evidence, generate policies, and prep everything while you keep building. And when it’s time to close your enterprise deal? Our security experts hop on the sales call with you.

We’ve helped companies like Lovable, Bland, Wispr, and Flow get compliant and grow faster — and we’d love to help you, too.
